As soon as a power line is energized, current flows. The current flows even when the devices are not on. We have been living with the topic of household electricity for over 100 years and take it for granted; without electricity, nothing works in the household. Nevertheless, alternating electrical fields can have a negative impact on our health. On the one hand, there are often hotspots of cables in the area where several electrical devices are in operation; increased alternating electrical fields can arise here. This can lead to health problems, especially at work or in places where you spend a long time. The most important thing is probably the sheep place, there should be almost no alternating electrical fields here, because when we sleep we recharge our batteries for the next day and there are also detoxification mechanisms in the body that can be disrupted by all kinds of electrosmog pollution.
Note: The building biology limit values are sometimes 1,000 to 5,000 times lower than the legal limit values. During my research, I was able to basically determine that all limit values in the area of electrosmog in Germany tend to protect industry and not the citizens. When a building biologist like Wolfgang Maes, with over 30 years of professional experience, describes cases in his book “Stress due to electricity and radiation” where people suffered from health problems well below the state limits and these sufferings disappeared after building biology renovation, then I trust such a practitioner definitely more.
The story with the ghost. In one apartment, the residents kept dropping things out of their hands in the kitchen and after a few years they joked that there must be a ghost roaming around because there were fewer plates and cups. A measurement of the “alternating electrical fields” revealed that there was an earth-related alternating field of 1300 V/m on the worktop in the kitchen. In comparison, a screen with the TCO standard can display a field of 10 V/m at a distance of 50cm. Strong alternating electrical fields can affect our nerves and muscles, causing slightly different actions, which in turn can explain why things fall out of people's hands. There were four electrical devices on the worktop (toaster, mixer, coffee maker, tea maker) which were in turn connected to a power strip. The power strip, in turn, was plugged into a socket behind the kitchen buffet. After a hole was sawn through the back wall of the kitchen buffet, it turned out that a 5-power socket strip was still connected there, which was completely useless behind the kitchen buffet. After this useless power strip was removed and the other power strip was replaced with a shielded power strip with an on/off switch (see also online shop) for the electrical devices, the alternating electrical field could be reduced by 95% when the devices were used The power strip lying on the kitchen buffet was switched off. Unfortunately not a house spirit but an extreme exposure to alternating electrical fields.
What can you do yourself?
Take a close look at all the device and cable hotspots in your home; you will often find that you can remove one or two power strips. Replace all cheap power strips with shielded power strips, which you can find in our online shop, for example. You can have a power switch installed in the fuse box for the bedroom. The mains switch detects when you have turned off the last lamp and device in the evening and then disconnects the entire power circuit to the bedroom. All alternating electrical fields, unless there are still loads from neighbors, are then separated and you can sleep free of alternating electrical fields.
