Information on the disposal of used batteries
The following notice is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form in which they were supplied (end users):
1. take back used batteries free of charge
Batteries may not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries so that proper disposal can be ensured. You can take used batteries to a municipal collection point or to your local retailer. As a distributor of batteries, we are also obliged to take back used batteries, although our take-back obligation is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our range. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge directly to our dispatch warehouse at the address given in the legal notice.
2 Meaning of the battery symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005% mercury by mass, more than 0.002% cadmium by mass or more than 0.004% lead by mass, the chemical name of the pollutant used is shown under the dustbin symbol - “Cd” stands for cadmium, “Pb” for lead and “Hg” for mercury.

3.vehicle batteries
The following special features apply to the sale of vehicle batteries (these are batteries intended for the starter, lighting or ignition of vehicles): Pursuant to Section 10 BattG, the seller is obliged to charge end users a deposit of EUR 7.50 including VAT per vehicle battery if the end user does not return an old vehicle battery to the seller at the time of purchase of the new vehicle battery. The customer receives a deposit voucher when purchasing a vehicle battery. The customer can return the old vehicle battery to the seller for a refund of the deposit. Due to the Hazardous Goods Ordinance, it is not permitted to send the old vehicle battery to the seller. Alternatively, the customer can return the old vehicle battery to a collection point set up by the public waste disposal authority. If the old vehicle battery is not returned to the seller collecting the deposit, the party authorized to collect the old vehicle battery in accordance with Section 11 (3) BattG is obliged to confirm in writing or electronically to the end user upon request that the old vehicle battery will be taken back without a deposit refund. In this case, the customer shall be reimbursed by the seller for the deposit collected, provided that the customer submits written or electronic proof of return to the seller in accordance with Section 10 (1) sentence 4 BattG, which is not older than two weeks at the time of submission
